1. What do we get for our money?
Each player will get a uniform, which includes shirt, shorts and 1 pair of socks. Each player will get a picture package which includes 1 team picture, one 3"x5" individual photo in a presentation mat, and 1 button photo (you may order more photos at your expense). Your child also gets one season of playing soccer and learning the basic fundamentals of soccer.

2. Why can't we pick our practice site and times?
Your volunteer coach picks the site and time that fits their schedule best. Without him/her, you wouldn't have a team.

3. Why do we have to register so early before the season actually starts?
Competition soccer tryouts begin in April and from there we place the remaining children (over 700) on teams. The whole process is very time consuming.

4. What is the youngest age a child must be in order to register?
Players must be 6 years old by August 1, 2004 to qualify for the U8 group.

5. What equipment does my child need?
Each child needs soccer cleats, shin guards, soccer socks, a water bottle, and a soccer ball for practices. Soccer balls come in different sizes; #3 for U8, #4 for U10 and U12, #5 for U14 and up. Many sporting goods stores and others offer soccer supplies. Ask your coach if you have further questions.

6. Can I request a coach or team?
No, you may put the names of a player on the registration form for carpooling but there is no guarantee made that a request will be fulfilled. The volunteer team coordinators try to rebuild teams for the upcoming season using the previous years "core" team.

7. Can I switch teams?
It is the league policy not to make changes in the rosters once the teams are created. We try our best to make balanced, neighborhood teams and cannot accommodate each family's busy schedule or requests.

8. What happens if my child does not get on a team?
Very rarely will this happen but it can if we have a lack of coaches. If we cannot accommodate all players we will refer the parents to other clubs that have room for more children. The parent will register with the other club and a refund will be issued from Aptos Soccer Club.

9. How can I volunteer to coach, help ,or become part of the Aptos Soccer Club Board of Directors?
Use your child's registration form to let us know that you want to volunteer; there is a specific spot for that info. We always need volunteers, so please sign up to help. Or call 688-8501 x20.
