For over 20 years, the Aptos Soccer Club has provided an excellent opportunity for more than 800 children, ages 6 (now 4)-18 to play soccer both recreational and competitive levels. The Aptos Soccer board and volunteer coaches schedule and run over 60 games each weekend, and well over 100 practices per week. We provide and maintain 10 soccer fields each year. The board schedules and oversees the lining of fields, setting and removal of nets, ordering uniforms and equipment, and placement of some 100 referee spots each week during the season. We also hold referee clinics, coaching clinics for both recreation and competitive coaches, plan picture day, schedule and plan fundraising events. During the off season, the board plans, repairs fields and orders new equipment. Our volunteer board does a tremendous job and does it all for our children and our community. |
There are only a few board positions available at this time, a little different than last year.
They are:
U8 girls coordinator - helps form the teams, recruit coaches (when necessary) and keeps track of the weekly scores (in order to better plan for the second half of the season).
Fundraising coordinator - this person would be in charge of candy sales for the club and help out with picture day and casino night. |
